Arsenal are eyeing a transfer raid on Celtic for the signing of Odsonne Edouard in the summer.
That is despite the fact that he recently stated how happy he was at Parkhead and was in no rush to push through a move.
Mikel Arteta is aware of the rumours surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international is Arsenal’s top scorer this season on 20 goals and is desperate to play in the Champions League next season.
The former Borussia Dortmund star turns 31 this summer and knows that he will not get many more chances to land the trophy.
That could force Arsenal into a transfer decision, with them desperate to avoid a similar situation to Alexis Sanchez.
But regardless of the situation, Arteta is desperate to bolster his attacking options.
Alexandre Lacazette is the only other senior striker at the club with Eddie Nketiah still a youngster while both have been deployed on the wing, as well as Aubameyang.
And according to the Mirror, the Spaniard is chasing Celtic hotshot Edouard.
The Frenchman has been in fine form since swapping life at Paris St-Germain for the Hoops.
In 125 appearances, he has netted 61 times – including 27 this campaign.
However, the 22-year-old could throw a spanner in the works after insisting he is happy in Scotland.
When asked how he felt to play at Celtic Park, he said: “It’s something incredible. When we go home after it’s been an unforgettable night and when we play at Celtic Park on a European night, I really enjoy the atmosphere.
“I really appreciate what the fans do and I hope it continues that way.”
