David Alaba continues to be linked with a summer transfer out of Bayern Munich, with Manchester City reportedly interested in signing the left-back.
Alaba worked with Pep Guardiola at Bayern, and now seems set to leave the Allianz Arena to find a new club at the end of the season, according to numerous reports.
That seemed to have City on alert as he was mentioned as a possible solution to Guardiola’s left-back problems over the weekend, a connection that was well received by fans.
However Bild now claim, via SportsMole, that Alaba will snub interest from City as he prefers a move to Spain with Barcelona or Real Madrid said to be very interested in his services.
City have Benjamin Mendy, Aleks Zinchenko and Angelino on their books at left-back, with Joao Cancelo also capable of filling in on his weaker side. No player has managed to hold down the position, though, and City could look to the transfer market for a long-term solution in the position.
